I have a three piece, expensive suit that was in a chest that was in a flood. I took the suit to the cleaner's but they said they couldn't help me. Then he said something about peroxide. Know ant thing about that? Or any other way I can 'save' this suit?

  1. hang it outside for a couple days. Take it in at night though. make sure it's not in direct sunlight or else the sun might bleach it. I've done this a bunch of times, and when you bring it in it'll smell fresh.

  2. Try Febreze eliminates oders.Call the company at 1=800=308=3279 for more info.I use it all the time, its a great product.

  3. febreze, then steam clean

  4. I think this stuff will work... I had an elderly cat who urinated all over one of my silk suits.  I knew that taking it to the cleaners would be a mistake - even if they tried to get the stain/odor out - the chemicals would bleach/discolor the suit so, since I thought that it was ruined I decided to take action.  I realize that you're not dealing with cat urine, but mold is organic and should react in a similar manner.

I poured about a gallon of this in a bucket and pluged the pants & jacket into the bucket and let it soak for a couple of hours.  I then rinsed it out in the bath tub and hung up the suit to let it air dry (smell the fabric before you finally rinse - once you can't smell it anymore - then you know to rinse and air dry).

Once it was dry I double checked and there was no odor.  Then I took it to the cleaners (at this point the suit had lost it's shape - but since the stuff had been rinsed out, I didn't think that there'd be any chemical issues with the stuff the dry cleaner uses).  When I picked it up from the cleaners - NO MORE SMELL and NO STAINS!  It was great - and I wore that suit for 2 more years until I sent it off to GoodWill earlier this year.

I'm sure that you can get this at several places - the only place I ever got it was at Petsmart - so that's the link here: http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.js...

    Good Luck!
