I have had a mouse in my apartment for at least 2 weeks. We have every kind of trap down but it avoids them. I finally bought some snap traps thinking that would take care of it but it has not touched the bate. We don't know how to get rid of it. Its getting bold, it crawled on my roommate when she was sleeping. Please help! Thank You in Advanced!

  1. I think you should call an exterminator.

  2. You can buy humane traps, put some chocolate in , remember to check often then release it away from houses

  3. If the mouse is not interested in the bait, it is not hungry.  This means it is getting its food somewhere else.

Do you have pets?  Are the food bowls exposed to mice?  If so, place the bowls somewhere high (like on top of the fridge) and feed your pets at set feeding times.  Don't leave the bowls on the floor longer than one hour at a time.

Empty the lower cabinets *and food drawers* of your kitchen to see if the mouse has invaded any food areas.  If so, move the food to higher (wall) cabinets where it cannot go.  Mouse-proof your garbage also.

Once the mouse is hungry, it will be ready to nibble on bait.  Cut a piece of raw bacon small enough to fit on the trap trigger, and secure it with thread so it is un-stealable (my great-grandma's trick).  In a few days, the mouse will nibble, guaranteed.  Leave the trap set for 30 days after you catch the last one, in case there are more.  Good luck!
