  1. Do the add/remove programs thing...

Then go into program files and right click on the icon, then left click 'delete' on any AOL folders you see there. That should get rid of what keeps popping up.

Skip the registry stuff or you'll end up with a big door stopper.

  2. Steps :-

    To uninstall AOL

Close the AOL software. (Note: First save these steps in a text file or print them)

On the Windows Start menu, click Settings, then Control Panel.

Windows XP users, click Start then click Control Panel.

    Double-click Add/Remove Programs.

Windows XP users may need to click Switch to Classic View first.

In the 'Add/Remove Programs' dialog box, select AOL UK, then click Add/Remove or Change/Remove.

In the version list, select the version or copy of the AOL software you want to remove, then click Next.

Note: If you have downloaded files or saved email in your Personal Filing Cabinet (or the Saved on My PC folder on AOL 9.0) that you wish to keep, make sure the Downloaded Files and Personal Filing Cabinet checkboxes are ticked. If ticked, these files will be copied to your desktop.

Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the uninstall .

    Delete the registry keys

  3. Go to Start>Control Panel> (make sure you are on Control Panel home) click Programs >Uninstall a Program> look for AOL and click it and select remove and go through the process.

  4. You can go into the Control Panel by hitting Start and then Control Panel.

    Then go into Add/Remove Programs

Click on AOL and hit Remove

  5. Just go to Start>Control Panel>Add or Remove Programs then find it in the list and click Remove.

Get Ccleaner it does a good job cleaning files up after you have  uninstalled something. It does alot of other good things to. Thats found here:http://www.ccleaner.com/

  6. if you have the guts because this is extremely dangerous, but from the Start > run > regedit  once you are in the registry editor, search for AOL and delete all references to AOL.

Where it gets tricky, there are several registry points that need to stay in the registry, and thisis why it gets dangerous...

THERE IS NO UNDELETE IN THE REGISTRY...

one s***w-up can cause you to reformat the drive and re enter the OS.
