  1. tell her she isnt working out and you have to let her go. Poor job performance.

  2. Tell her that the company is being restructured and she will have a new manager. Explain that you will have to respect any decisions that managers make regarding their subordinates.  You absolutely, for the sake of the company, cannot interfere in their decision making processes.

Let the new manager fire her if that's what he/she feels is necessary.

  3. man up - tell her the deal   if you are company owner surely  you must know its just business.   if you cant man up then u have to suck it up

  4. When you're at work, she's not a sibling, she's an employee.  Treat her the same as any other employee.  Talk to her and tell her what you expect from her.  Give her a list of performance standards she is required to meet if she wants to keep her job.

Document any issues that come up and use whatever disciplinary measures you use for other employees.  If she doesn't straighten up, replace her.  If your company is to be successful, you can't play favorites with anyone.  If you have other employees, you know they are resenting her behavior which is contributing to the lower productivity.  As the business owner, you have to make some hard decisions.

  5. You're the boss, you have the right to fire her.  If not, your company will suffer.

I used to know someone whose father owned a B&B. This guy "worked" for his father.  Most days, he would not turn up for the breakfast shift (hangover) and when he appeared, he would go home by noon and spend the rest of the day smoking pot.

I don't think you're doing your sibling a favor by encouraging her lazy ways.  She needs to know that it takes a little more hard work to earn money.  That will help her in the future.

  6. First of all, you should talk to her about her attitude at work...it is your business and you want to succeed...if you she fails to understand and still continues not doing what the job description asks for, then talk to her again but this time tell her she gotsa go!

  7. Introduce a "No Cell Phones at Work Policy". Cell phones have become the bane of a lot of work places. A lot of bosses have trouble with employees being on them all day instead of working. You are no Robinson Crusoe with your sister.

Having banned the cell phone at work, offer your sister the option of training and staying on at work and working or leaving. That way she cannot turn around and say that you didn't give her a reasonable chance to be a good worker.

The training will have to be in something to do with the business. It may be in office work or mechanical work. If she won't take orders from you it is unlikely that she will want to undertake training from another party. Make sure that you are not the one doing the training. That way if she won't train you don't have to give her her marching orders.

She looks as though she is treating you as a free meal ticket. Once she realises that the party is over she may decide that she should knuckle down and work. I doubt it though.

    Good Luck!!!

  8. if you are the business owner you have no one to blame but yourself for her lazy incompetent ways.

if she is as bad as you say,,,,, FIRE HER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...
