How do I get rid of anti virus temporarary?

Well, I'm trying to open up this thing on the internet for school and then a pop-up comes up and says: cannot open; please shut down anti virus temporarily. My anti virus thing is Norton 360.

press start then control panel, then go to security and you can turn it off there

Don't download what ever it is if it asks you to turn off you AV protection then its probably unsafe.
