  1. This happened to me a couple of days ago.

I kept clicking on it and it wouldn't go away.

I have AVG antivirus , it's free and easy to find online.

It detected the 09 as a threat immediately and I was able to deleat it without effort.

This did not stop it coming up at first.

It kept trying to install the auto downloader.

I closed the I page and it was still there.

After AVG detected it  2-3 times, by the third time i figured out I had to click on Cancel. If you click on 'No' it starts trying to install the pop up again. It only took me a couple of minutes to completely get rid of it without having to open up files.

AVG is quite a good antivirus programme.

The antivirus 09 was detected immediately and a pop up window came up asking me if I want to fix/delete it. I just clicked yes and that was all I had to do.

Remember to click cancel after it's deleted to prevent it from trying to reinstall the popup downloader.

When you install it, turn off Norton.

You can also turn off AVG when you want to use Norton.

It's good to have more than one antivirus and run separate scans occassionally. They work in different ways and you will find that things are detected by one that are not detected by others.

AVG doesn't cause damage by deleting things that can then cause problems and crash your computer. It's an 'easygoing' programme. When you do a scan it puts things in order of level of threat and makes recommendations on whether to leave it, put it in quarantine, fix it or delete it.

It's also honest and tells you when it can't fix something.

Running AVG will not interfere with your existing Antivirus.

I have had two running at the same time and had no problems but just in case you can turn Norton Off just to make sure it will work to get rid of this thing and then turn it on after.

  3. What's up,

I'm betting that you have a serious spyware problem.  This can be a very pesky thing to have on  your computer.

I've personally gone through a couple of computers now due to serious spyware and adware infections.  Once the spyware get's settled, it invites all of it's pesky relatives.  Spyware open's your computer up to adware, malware, and trojan infections.

This can make it very hard to totally erradicate.  I've read that it hides in all of your files and legit programs, and can be nearly impossible to totally get rid of.

I've also read that it is a lot cheaper, and a whole lot easier to just prevent spyware.

I asked my computer guy about it, and he told me to check out this website http://www.honestspywarereview.com .

I picked the number one spyware program to help keep my computer free of harmful programs.  It picked up 20 parasites on it's first scan.  And continues to keep my computer clean.

If you suspect that your computer is infected with spyware, I would highly suggest that you get it fixed today.  Because if you don't, you might end up having to buy a new computer like I did.  Twice.

  4. well that's a virus itself lol

scan with norton and if norton doesn't get rid of it then you wasted money buying norton

seriously though, if norton doesn't catch it then get avast and scan with that

like i said, if norton get it then download avast and scan it with that. i'm not surprised that norton didn't get that but i will be if avast doesn't detect that antivirus 09 is a virus

  5. norton is useless  If Jimbo posts a long list of software to download, I suggest you ignore his answer. I tried one of his suggestions, and got a second virus for my troubles.

you will probably have to do it manually. read the below page and follow the instructions.
