How do I get rid of ants in my apartment without calling an exterminator?

Use a mix of cinnamon and sugar. The ants will pick up the sugar, along with the cinnamon, and take it back to their queen. Ants can’t digest cinnamon and once the queen dies from not being able to digest the cinnamon the colony will die without her.

Sorry I cannot remember the name of the product that I got at the supermarket.  Basically it worked as you lay down little squares that you tore from the box and then put drops of this stuff on them.  It attracted the ants to eat it and then they carry it to the nests and it kills them there.  We saw a day of increased activity and then nothing.  Take a look it was a very orange box.

Since it's an apartment, it's likely that the ants are coming from someone else's home.

Unless they take care of their problem, you won't have much luck taking care of yours.

Call your apartment manager and see if they already have an agreement with an exterminator. If they do not, make them get one. This isn't something you can handle on your own.
