I have a healthy looking tomato vine (no tomatoes yet) and a healthy banana tree (bananas, but not ripe yet). They are both crawling with ants. Not by the millions but enough to get 2 or 3 on your hand by just touching them. How do I get rid of them?

  1. spread chicken manure around the bottom of your plants. the ants hate the stuff and its good for the plants. and after that just gently spray the plants with water to get the ants off. and soon they'll be gone

  2. Use a pyrethrin or pyrethium spray on them..This product is an extract from chrysanthiums and a natural insecticide...

You can pyrethrins at any garden center..I prefer the concentrate that you put in a ortho dial a sprayer...much cheaper in the long run volume wise than a hand spray bottle..here is a look at some of them..
