How do I get rid of black bars in sony vegas?

Whenever I render a video it always has annoying black bars and it also does it in the preview. How do I get rid of the black bars in the finished or rendered video?

this bars appear because your clips image sized doesn't match with your project image size. for example a wide screen video is much wider than a NTSC video so when you play a wide screen video in your NTSC monitor you can see 2 black borders, your computer put them there automatically to fill the empty area. it is the same about youtube, if you send them a wide screen video they will put black borders on top and bottom of your video. now if you want to fix it change your project resolution to an other system or crop your clips to remove those parts. pay attention to pixel aspect ratio, it's very important.
