How do I get rid of centipedes?

My apartment has a centipede problem and I have no clue what to do to get rid of them. They are the long-legged house centipedes (i would post a picture but I'm too grossed out to look at one more of them.) If anyone out there knows a good product or method to dwindle their numbers, please let me know. I'm thoroughly grossed out. Thanks!

Centipedes are predators, so the first thing to do is eliminate their food sources. Do you have any other insects/spiders in your apartment? (Ex: roaches) Try to dry out any damp areas the 'pedes may be inhabiting. It's always best to hold off on pesticides unless absolutely necessary. Many of the chemicals labeled to kill centipedes don't actually work anyways. Seal and caulk any gaps you may have around windows, doors, pipes, etc.
