How do I get rid of hornets in my garden?

Are they eating my vegetables?

There are three little holes in the ground. I know they're hornets, because one of the biggest hornets I've ever seen in my life came out of one while I was looking at them. I don't know if that means there are three nests or if it's one nest with three entrances. I also don't know how long they've been there because I water at night. That also means I don't know if I should water tonight. Help!

  1. buy some of the wasp spray thats the long distance liquid. shoot it into the holes and give them a taste of neurotoxins. it will kill the hornets and the larvae in the nest.

  2. it may not be exactly eco friendly, but while they are resting (at night)  you will need to pour gasoline in their nest holes. then cover the holes with a heavy duty tarp. weigh it down with boards,and/or rocks. This should suffocate them, and not let them out. in a few days- you should remove tarps, rocks etc, and dig out the nests.   -OR-  your hardware store should have a product specifically to kill "wasps & hornets" that you will spray in or onto the nests.
