Question:

How do I get rid of my Blues Junior feedback?

I have a brand new Fender Blues Junior but I'm getting killer feedback when I plug my guitar in, I've tried standing away, and not facing the amp, no improvement. It only goes away when I either touch the cord near my jack or if I touch any metallic part of the amp (k***s). I'm thinking the problem could be with the guitar jack (S****y squier, pretty old) thoughts?

Help appreciated

  1. When you say it goes away when you touch the cord or a piece of metal, that makes me think it's a grounding problem.  But I've not heard of actual feedback happening with that.  I'd take the guitar and your amp to the store where you bought it, plug it in for them and see if a techy person at the shop can diagnose it for you.  If it doesn't happen with a similar amp there, that indicates a problem with the amp and they can refund your money or do a replacement; and if it's in your guitar, at least you're at a guitar store where it can be maintenanced.

    Good luck.  :)
