Question:

How do I get rid of my acne???

I have acne on the lower parts of my cheek bones and some on my forehead. I've tried a lot to get rid of it and nothing seems to be too effective.

I'm 19, I don't smoke or drink. I barely eat fast food, I never drink pop or soda, and I work out a lot. I also use pro-active, which works somewhat, but every single time I get really close to clearing up, I break out bad.

I don't seem to have normal acne either. It breaks out deep under my skin, so I can't pop it and its still visible. I usually shave them off with a razor and then gently squeeze out the puss (gross, I know).

Can anyone give me some help on somethings I should/shouldn't eat, and could anyone also tell me what kind of acne I might have?

  1. It sounds like you have the cystic type of acne. That usually occurs on the cheeks and can cause scarring. Your best bet would be to see a dermatologist. Acne is a skin disease and there are medications available that will reduce the symptoms or clear them up.

I have a 14-year-old daughter with acne. Her dermatologist has said that her severity is Stage 2. Stage 4 is the worst possible. She has a mix of cysts on her cheeks and huge blackheads on her nose. She also gets a lot of pimples along her hairline. She's been on medication and that doesn't totally stop the outbreaks but they occur less frequently and not as severely. Good luck.

  2. Drink plenty of water and have a good diet.

  3. Sup ule's. Well by the sound of your characterization, it is likely to be reflective of nodular acne, which is a large and often tender lumpy, bump that is inflamed and pus-filled. These nodular acne lesions are lodged deeper into the skin, and sometimes they are usually painful. This severe form of acne increases the likelihood of scarring. This would be an accurate description of this acne because you mention that you also have popped and picked them, which further worsens your acne condition. You should never pick or fiddle with acne lesions because, firstly, you spread the bacteria, and secondly when you burst them you run the risk of scarring or developing nodular acne. When you squeeze pus(mixture of white-blood cells) it tends to burst inwards into the skin, instead of going outwards to the surface of the skin. And bursting the pus means all the bacteria, dead skincells, and keratin is pushed further down into the skin. I would recommend you, if you shave using a razor, to use one that is guarded or covered by a plastic coating because this prevents direct contact to the skin, and minizimes trauma to the skin. Dont even bother with new razors that are triple or have quad razors because these shave below the skin surface and just make things worse. And you should shave with the grain, meaning shaving in the direction of the growth of the hair, typically its downwards. Shaving with the grain, results in less tendency to cut hairs too short. This can cause PFB or commonly known as razor bumps. I hope this has helped you, if you want anything else you can contact me and ill try to answer or address any concerns relating to acne. About you skin being infected, well on the body the parts that are acne-prone are the face, neck, chest and back. That includes under the chin and jaw. I even have one on my neck, nasty i know lol. These areas are acne-prone because they contain the largest amount of sebacceous glands, the glands produce the oily substance seebum which is a major contributor to acne. Furthermore, some of you may notice that on the face you may have more inflamed acne on the regions of your forehead, chin and nose. Your nose maybe like rudoff the reindeer, i can relate to this because my nose is red too. These regions of the face that i mentioned have

the highest concentrations of sebacceous glands that are centered on those areas, thus making it more prone to acne. Another indicator of this is that you may notice that your forehead appears more oily, greasy and shiny, just try looking in the mirror with light reflecting towards it. And remember " Touchy, touchy is very bad".

  4. whatever you do, don't try toothpaste it makes your eyes water bad.

  5. Dude use Oxy, it worked for me..And it's preety cheap only like 5 bux, and when you go out or whenever apply maybe baby power to keep your skin dry, because people with pimples usually have Oily skin, so try and keep it a little dry.

But try OXY, if it was not for oxy I would not have a GF today, I suggest you try it out

  6. you could be touching your face with your hands. Drink a lot of water. And don't use proactive, it only works for a bit, than you'll break out really really bad, and it may not go away. Just use a face wash with salicylic acid, and a moisturizer.
