How do I get rid of my depression i need some tips.?

I have had this depression for about a year and I'm sick of it already! Also I have cut myself before! Also i am in Foster care so if i tell them certain things i could be sent away! I like this place i am staying at!

  1. Looks like you got a lot of good answers, but exercise is what has always worked the best for me. Lots of cardio stuff like running, jogging, swimming, bicycling, jumping rope, etc. I know you probably don't feel like exercising when you are depressed, but believe me it really helps. Make sure you are not eating a lot of junk food, drink a lot of water, too.

  3. exercise works for me. I am bi polar and when my drugs are not working, I start walking.It seems to help walk off the blues

    Good Luck to you stay safe and be smart. Don't cut yourself it doesn't help. Been there done that!

  5. Life does get complicated and there are many scars. The truth is, everyone get down from time to time. When it last a long time it's a rut. Longer than that and you start feeling desperate. You have to hang in there and look for positive, constructive ways to turn it around or at least make it manageable. Ask anyone who has kids and has gone through divorce about the soul searching that goes on and the rebuilding. You make a new life... from the ground up sometimes. The sun comes up tomorrow, time has a way of working things out. You have something positive in your life now. That is your opportunity, for education, for building new relationships and for re-establishing a connection with your maker, for building a new future for you and your kids (future family).  You can do it! You have a family that is reaching out to you, and that's more that most kids have. Even many living with their biological parents. You have no idea how many intact families are totally dysfunctional. This is your opportunity to break the chains of disfunction. Find a good youth group at church. I know it doesn't sound cool at your age. I've been there. But you'll never realize God is all you need until God is all you have. You have that and more. You can do it!!! You future begins today and every day new.

  7. I have also been there done that, cutting never solved anything and neither did being depressed. I was moved 12 times in 4 years in the Foster care system, so do what you can to stay there if you like it. Do your best to find friends to talk to and consider writing. Writing poetry, stories and expressing my self on paper in general helped me get through some really tough times in my life. If you need to talk let me know.

  9. every time you feel bad you should just make a list of everyone and everything you love. i use to be really depressed but i got myself out of it. it helps if u have a friend that you can talk to but if u cant you just have to try and make it through by yourself. every time you feel like you are getting sad or in a bad mood again, make yourself not be like that. try to fake a good mood, because eventually it will become the real thing and you wont be faking it anymore. (:

    it is alot easier said then done but it really helped me. if you like where you live, remember that and remember that those people love you. every time you want to cut yourself, remind yourself that life really isn't that bad. :)

    and whenever i feel down i eat chocolate. I KNOW that is soo girly but it is a natural anti-depressant. it helps sooo much. :)
