I want to sing in front of people and show my voice but I just can't. How do I get rid of my stage fright? I know i'm shy but I just can't get rid of my stage fright! I always wanted to be a singer when I grew up but i'm just shy! SOMEONE HELP ME!!!

  1. I know how you feel.  I 've been taking lessons for 6 years and I'm still too shy to sing in front of ny family and friends!!  I believe that anyone who has the guts to sing in front of any crowd deserves a round of applause, whether they sound good or not.  What i would do I pick a song that I like a lot and practice it.  Don't copy the artist; make it your own song!  Also, record yourself singing and play it back to hear how you sound.  This will also save yourself some embarassement if it sounds bad.

  2. I love singing as much as you, a few months ago for the first time I sang on stage for a concert audition in front of my whole school. It's very nerve wracking but then think about it, if you don't do it it'll just be there in your head for the rest of the time, you'll feel SO much more confident once you go through that. To overcome fear they say walk through it.

Just imagine you are up there to enjoy yourself, to show off that voice, and all the people in the crowd are going to see what you're made of. If the audience's intimidating, forget their existence and visualize EVERY word and concentrate on the emotion in every line of the song. THAT is the secret which helped me!

Hope it helps you too. (=

  3. you should take lessons. and you will sing infront of your instructor. and then you should sing infront of the staff and the singing place.

then when you get better, it can be friends, family etc.

camp rock really inspired me too. im learning the guitar and dancing and maybe will take singing lessons. but i get really shy too. well not with singing, my face just turns red and i get embarrased. hopefully that will go away.

but you can do it if you put ur mind to it!

    goodluck!

  4. start small with your friends and family and then start adding people to them like more friends and family. Then go to karoke restaurants and start singing there, that should help....

  5. I end up with a lot of solos in my jazz band, but I have MAJOR stage fright, so here's what I do. This will be easier for you to do because you're using your voice and already need to have the music memorized, but what I do is I close my eyes, I even do this when I get up to talk in front of a lot of people. After a few seconds, after I hear no one's laughing or anything, I feel much more comfortable. Open your eyes and have fun. I also try to remember what my director told my friend once. The art of performing is based manily on how you carry yourself. If you look nervous, people will see that and you probably won't do as well as you'd hoped, but if you go out there saying (in your head of course) "hey guess what I'm the best there is.  You want some of this, well guess what you just sit there and MAYBE I'll show you what I can do. maybe. just wait and see." then you'll do great. Also, mind over matter is a big part of it. keep telling yourself you won't get nervous.

Well...that's really all I've got. hope it works as well for you as it does for me!

    good luck!

(and I saw camp rock too. It's great! I love Demi's voice)

  6. The oldest advice in the world is to imagine everyone in the audience wearing only their underwear (or even less, although then you might laugh uncontrollably) and realize that they are only human beings like yourself.

  7. Practice.  Get invloved in choir that way you can practice preforming up front of people but you won't be alone.  You just need to get on stage.  Forget that there are people watching you and just enjoy it.  When you preform you should look in the middle top back wall so you won't see anybody anyway.

You can also get some friends together who also like to sing or play and instruement and put together a preformance for family. My friend and brother have a little big of stage fright so I did that with them.  It was nothing big- we weren't even of stage but it felt so fun just to preform! I'm sure you'll enjoy that.

    Just get on stage! :-)
