Are you sure its not deer? Cedar is a favorite on the deer menu. Often people attribute damage to ground hog, rabbits and squirrels and it winds up being bold deer who are busy at night.

You will have to do the job lawfully.Ask the pest controller at your local council.They will catch them in humane traps and take them away.

My advice would be to get a squirrel feeder just for them and place it as far as possible from your nice plants. This way hopefully they'll go after the easy food left out just for them and leave your plants or bird food alone.

This is also a humane option.

Get rid of your cedars then?  Squirrels need a place to live too.  Besides, what destruction could they possibly do?

My husband shoots them. they  are pests. And will get into your attic if you don't control them.....if they get in  they will eat the dry wall and anything else around.  Make a horrible mess.
