How do I get rid of stinky boy smell in my family room?????

I have a basement family room that has become the neighborhood hang-out for all the teenage boys. Since it's in the basement, there's no windows to open to air it out, and it is getting FUNKY in there!!!! Any ideas on how to get it smelling fresh? (I've tried candles, but the good smell doesn't last very long, and I use Febreeze on the couches.) Also, we have allergy issues, so I can't use anything that's too strong or perfumey. Help!!!!!!!!

Get something that will circulate the air down there.  Preferably something with a filter.  Like an ionic breeze.  My little brothers room at my moms house always smells like dirty feet.  She got an ionic breeze thingy and now you can actually walk in his room without gagging.

We all know that basements can be a little damp, too. First circulate the air with a box fan in the basement and, at the top of the stairs run a fan while cleaning. Use the All Purpose Cleaner with Bleach from WalMart and spray down the walls. You don't have to wipe the walls, either. After the bleach is all dry and the basement has been aired out, leave the fan in the basement going and unplug the other one. Spray with a good air sanitizer, or neutralizer.

Clean everything with vinegar and water. When you vacuum, put a little cinnamon on a corner of the carpet, then vacuum, starting with that corner. Then it will smell like cinnamon.

Try using Oust Surface and Air sanitizer.I use it on my sons mancave and it works for days.

You could burn aromatherapy oils - perhaps Eucalyptus -

then circulate the air with an electirc fan.

Burning Joss Sticks or Cones is another alternative but may be a little smoky for a windowless basement.

2 use dettol on all of the surfaces in your basement
