How do I get rid of the line under the header? In MS Word 2003?

there is a line between the header and the article when I am trying to type a MLA format essay. but I don't want that line, how do I get rid of it?

Sounds like you need to look at the header and see if a line has been added there.  In Word 2003, select View, Header and Footer. Check to see if a line was drawn in the header and, if so, select it and delete it.
