My rubik's cube is a store bought one from Toys R Us. I bought it a few months ago and have been playing it a lot. However, it keeps making these squeaky spring noises when i turn the cube. Any way to get rid of that? It's getting pretty annoying and it's very noisy when i solve the cube.

Thanks in advance!

  1. i think most are actually compiled of rubber bands,so find a lubricant that works with rubber, vaseline or some KY maybe?

  2. Hey there!

For my experience, I don't have the squeaky noise with my first cube, but I do have with the second one!

I didn't try to get rid of it because that cheap cube was broken at the edge! My suggestion is to watch this video:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5xQ0ywP-b...

    And hope this helps!

Try not to lube your cube before you do what the video has told you to do. If you have already lube the cube then I guess is okay too!

ps: The way in the video is to get rid off the little pieces in the cube the will keep scratching your cube and make all that squeaky noise!

    Good Luck!

  3. dab your finger in a bit of cooking oil, then apply to each piece where it joins to the main frame.

-not to much, just to stop the friction.

  4. Find a lubricant that works with rubber.

  5. Buy An Original One.If It Wastes Your Money,Use Some Petroleum Jelly.

  6. You need to either loosen the springs or lubricate it. If that doesn't work get new springs or a new cube.
