How do I get rid of the write-protection on my flashdrive?

I'm trying to copy, delete, and make changes to stuff on my flashdrive, but it says it's write-protected. It wasn't like this before. Can someone tell me how to get rid of the write protection?

Turn off the write protect switch.

the same thing happened to me and on some flash drives there is a switch and if you flip it, it will take off the write protection, however my flash drive did not have the switch so i saved all of my documents to my desktop and then brought a new one.
