How do I get rid of these razor bumps along my bikini line?

Okay I have razor bumps, and I'm guessing they are ingrown hairs. I use a Gillette Sensor Excel and it works well. I'm a girl by the way. I use Noxzema Hair Minimizing Shaving Gel. I just got the gel. I read some articles talking about exfoliating your skin along your bikini line. How do you do that? What do I have to buy? Please help me. I have these ugly razor bumps. Thanks. Oh yeah and what shaving gel do you recommend.

  1. For a shaving gel, I use Aveeno Positively Smooth, and it works fabulously (although I usually wax my bikini line instead of shaving, because the results last longer). Make sure your razor is sharp, and keep it santized if you can - store it in a cup of alcohol or (gasp!) vodka to kill bacteria that can contribute to razor bumps. And whatever you do, leave the bumps alone!

    To exfoliate, you can:

    - use a loofah or bath brush to slough off dead skin

    - or, mix salt or sugar with a gentle body wash and scrub with your hands or a washcloth

  2. Cool washcloth on the bumps.

I have found a couple secrets for eliminating razor burn....

    1.  Use a new razor every time.  Don't shave your legs first.

    2.  Shave in the same direction of the hair... so downward.

    3.  Don't go over and over the same spot a million times.  The razor should not scrape the skin more than once or twice tops.
