Someone please help me with this! I am trying to uninstall this anti-virus software to install a new type. It's called threatfire that I had originally on and I go to control panel to uninstall it. My computer sends me a message stating file does not exist. Cannot uninstall. That is c**p because it does exist as it fully functions. So why can I not uninstall it?? I want to because it does not work and it conflicts my other programs I have running. HOW DO I GET RID OF THIS ????? It's messed up my computer system.

  1. First, right-click on the prog. icon and select 'open file location' from the list. Open the program folder and look to see if it has it's own uninstall file.

If it doesn't, or the file itself doesn't work, delete objects from the file a few at a time, opening sub-files within it and doing the same. If you run across a file it won't let you delete, right-click and select 'who's locking' if that tells you nothing, hit control/alt/del and go to the processes tab. Hopefully you'll be able to recognize processes related to this program. click on them and click 'end process' this should enable you to delete the file. once you have deleted every piece of the file, download BeClean (do a search for 'BeClean Download') and it will clean your registry of any remaining traces. Run yahoo anti-spy and get Avast anti-virus. A safe place to dowload from is cnet.com. If you need any more help, message me. Good luck.

P.S. anti-virus files in processes will have "svc' in them

  2. Ug, i hate those. I had problems getting rid of XP Internet Security. Even after i deleted all the software and all files associated with it. I even diabled it in its own properties. Still pop ups every 30 seconds to activate it or threats found. Finally jus paid for Kaspersky and when i downloaded and activated it, all the other c**p went away...

Thats what you get with that free antivirus c**p...

  3. According to my accounts when any program has installed you have to choose a location folder C:/ or D:/ and the folder has been mistaken removed either by avirus hacker or somebody from the family that is using the computer with you

and the answer is install the program again the unstall it

    good luck

  4. I would go to the threatfire website and support page and contact them, 1 they should be able to tell you why you are having such issues,

2 they need to know that their program is doing goofy c**p so they can try to resolve the issue for the next person with this problem and

3 YOU get to vent at them !!! LOL

I thought about installing to see what you are going thru but I dont need that problem either !

Sorry I cant be more help.
