Question:

How do I get soda out of a leather couch?

it's the soft kind of leather, not the shiny kind. Coca cola got spilled on it, and we scrubbed it a little with water and we're waiting for it to dry. When it dries will it be normal color again? (it's a spread out, shallow spill, not deep. And we rubbed it with a wet towel.)

  1. Your best bet is to clean leather with some White Vinegar and a little water on a cloth and rub gently this will remove the soda and clean and condition the leather, wait for a few minutes then rinse with cool water and dry with a soft clean towel Good Luck !

  2. This sounds as though you have an aniline style leather (one that absorbs moisture) if this is the case then there is nothing you can do to clean out the stain as it has been absorbed by the leather.  You can only clean off the surface of leather and not out of it.

You may be able to dissipate the stain by cleaning and then using a leather protector and over time this will blend the stain in to the rest of the leather.

Using a good leather protector will help inhibit spillages from being absorbed in future (like a scotchgard) and also make it easier to keep clean.

If spillages occur the best thing to do is to wet the whole panel to ensure that it dries out evenly.
