How do I get someone to drill for oil on my land?

The land is in Coleman, Texas.......North Central Texas. There is a total of 200 acres.

  1. Well first, there must be oil under your land, and you must have enough acres for the officials to consider it.  Depending on where you live, you may have better luck with natural gas.  Where do you live?

  4. Consider the following: 1) If you had a lucrative find, the companies would have beaten a path to your door. 2) If they are already pumping from the pool, they don't need you as another expense. They can do just as well at the nearest neighbor with 10,000 acres and get it all - but because of the liability of mineral rights, they would have already negotiated the lease for what lay under your property, if any.

    200 acres is probably not even worth answering the phone over, just be prepared.
