How do I get somewhere on a train?

I live in basingstoke and I want to get to ascot racecourse this friday. Just need to know how many trains I need and do I need two tickets as I never travel on trains.

You need two trains, one from Basingstoke to Reading (Cross Country at 47 minutes part the hour, First Great Western at 7 minutes past) change to South West Trains at Reading for Ascot. You will only require one ticket - chep day return £10.80
