How do I get songs off my iPod Classic?

I recently switched to a new computer and I used my iPod Classic as a way to store all my music. How can I get the music off my iPod as an mp3 file?

the trial copys only allow 100 songs... im trying to do the same thing... you can do it manually then convert the mp4 files to mp3 but they have random names. i downoad imtoo and got that god damm vista antivirus!

Its never been simpler in fact, to transfer your files back and forth at a virtual whim. What's even better, is you can load them and set the playlist to automatically shuffle through the songs without pausing.

Remember to make sure your folder viewing options are set to view files and folders, so you can see all your iPod files easily in iTunes. Or alternatively, do it in Windows under the My Music folder option.

Use a program like imtoo or Touch Copy.  They're not free, but if you only need to do it once, the trial version works just fine.

You have to authorize the computer, and than when the little ipod symbol thingy comed up, you click on it, and make sure that it says something about manually managing your songs or something, and than click on MUSIC under that ipod symbol on the left, and when all of your songs get on the computer, right click, and click copy...
