Question:

How do I get songs onto my Ipod Nano without deleting my current songs?

Well, I already have songs on my Ipod but I try to put more songs on it, it won't let me because it says you must Erase and Sync but I don't want to erase all my songs then put them all back on??

What do I do?

  1. Yeah, all you have to do is connect your iPod to your computer (using the USB cord given) and your iTunes should automatically update your iPod so that your iTunes library and the songs on your iPod match exactly.

    However, if you have deleted songs on your iTunes or something that you want to keep on your iPod, you can do that as well. You just need to change the settings on your iTunes so it does not automatically sync up and delete those songs on your iPod.

    To do this, when you plug in your iPod and it pops up on the side bar to the left, click on the icon that says your iPods name (ie Olivia's iPod, or something) and a "Summary" page should come up. On the bottom half of this page it should have a list of four things with check boxes next to them.

    The third one down says "Manually manage music" click the check box next to this.

    Once this is done, your iPod and iTunes will not automatically sycn up, deleting some music on your iPod.

    You will however, have to drag and drop artists or songs to your iPod (ie. Olivia's iPod) everytime you want to add new ones, which I've never personally found to be a big deal.
