How do I get started as a paranormal investigator?

Question

I've always been interested in the paranormal. I read anything I can about it. All of the questions and possible answers interest me to no end and I just want to keep learning and someday find those answers.

I really want to find a group of serious investigators in the Michigan area that are willing to have a 14 year old girl observe and maybe even help out on research and investigations.

Does anyone know any possible way I could actually get started doing that?

There are no professionals in this field, so don't be afraid to get active.  Let your curiosity lead you.  Ask a lot of questions.  Experiment.  Take some practical science classes.  Assume nothing.  Reach conclusions based not on what you've heard or is supposedly true, but your own practical, hands-on experience.  As time goes on and you accumulate more experience you will learn more and more about how to become a good investigator.

I believed in the paranormal too at 14.  By the time you are 18, you will have learnt to apply logic, and look for evidence.

You are on the right track. Keep reading, study scientific proceedure, maintain good grades and a high level of integrity; don't expect all the answers this side of 'eternity', but the fun is in the journey. Best wishes.

I don't know for sure..but I doubt they'd let a minor tag along. I doubt their insurance would cover it. They'd be liable if anything happened to you. There are so many laws now for the protection of minors..you really shouldn't put anyone in a position where they could be sued or go to prison if anything happened to you. They would call it "endangerment of a minor". Just keep studying and reading about all the paranormal experiences you can and when you turn legal age..you'll be smarter than most of the other ones starting out.

I would recommend contacting any local and state ghost and haunting societies. Most will let you join for free. (be weary of those that try to charge you for joining)

Its possible you might be considered too young to participate in active research at this time, however, most send out interesting newsletters. They also have meetings which its quite possible you would be allowed to participate in.

I'm sorry, you'd be too young to sign off on the liability for field work. Thanks for being honest though, and of course you'd be welcome in the company of relatives.

There might be a group that would want you to listen to tapes for EVPs, that's fun but gets boring after the first hour.

if you want to figure out why many things seem paranormal study  quantum mechanics(physics) and you will find out why many things are not paranormal and why you dont know about their function.

i also like the paranormal but know i am trying to decode the paranormal to find out why is it treated as paranormal why inst in known to public

a theory i have about ghost is that they are dead people that try to communicate with us but they are at another dimension that is why they are just giving signs by hunting us because they could not cross to our dimension
