  1. If you're really serious about getting into modeling:

First, stay away from Barbizon, JRP, Casablanca's and any of the other modeling schools posing as agencies. Any agency asking for money up front is a scam.

The best thing you can do is find an agency - which can be a little more challenging than you think.  Google searches and looking through the yellow pages will turn up more of the above scams than good legit places.  While it's not necessarily required to get a portfolio together first I would recommend it.  Having a portfolio shows your serious and it also gives you some camera-time experience which, when competing for an agency spot, can be valuable.

I would highly recommend visiting OneModelPlace.com or Model Mayhem. They're both huge online communities for the industry. You can network, find local photographers (many of which will help you build a portfolio for free) and depending on your area you may even find work. As with anything on the Internet DO YOUR RESEARCH. Check references before working with anyone and always bring someone with you to any shoot.

  2. From what I understand, you just go go a modeling agency.  Don't spend money on professional photos. If after meeting you, the agency is still interested, they will take photos -- usually very informal ones.  They really just want to see how photogenic you are.  Please be careful of modeling scams.  Go to a legit agency.  Run from anyone who tells you you need a portfolio and have to invest hundreds (or thousands) of dollars on photos.  Good luck.

  3. Well, you can send in some pics to some modeling agencies and if they like what they see they will contact you. Also you can research online and find out if there are any casting calls where you live. I suggest ford, elite, and LA models. I've had people come up to me and ask me to go to casting calls in the mall, sounds a little fishy though so i didnt go since the better modeling agencies dont need modeling scouts. Good luck!

P.S. Also I've heard that if you apply for a job at Abercrombie and you get in, you might get to be in an ad, because ive heard that they sometimes choose models from the stores, not sure but itd be cool if that happened, wouldnt it?

  4. You'll Have To Take Pictures (For you're Portfolio)

Send Them to a Modeling Company, Then If They Like

You They'll Hire You Or Whatever, But Then You Have To Get An Agent.

So Find Modelling agencies In You're Area.

    Make A Portfolio

    And see What Happens ...

    Good Luck?!

  5. Hire somebody to take ur pics like a photoshoot bc u'll need a portfolio, and then get an agent.
