How do I get strong muscles that aren't big or bulky?

I want to do weight-lifting, but I only want strong, hard muscles, not big bulky ones. how exactly do I make sure this happens?

  1. Think about it like this. You want to elongate your muscles. Swimmers, runners and bikers all have these. SO cardio and also repetitive exercise is going to do this for you. Less weight more reps.


  2. CARDIO, bike riding, long brisk walks, running...youll build your heart muscle which is most important and get long and lean, also try pilates, that stuff isnt exactly a walk in the park...

  4. You  want to do more reps with lighter weights.  If you do few reps with heavy weights you would get bulkier.

  5. hey there! muscles work in strange ways but here are the 2 different steps

    1. To be Big--- heavy weights+red meat

    2.Not big but muscular---light weights with more reputition and white meat the best is grilled chicken

Honestly, I'd suggest working out just like anyone else.  Assuming that you're female from your avatar, chances are you don't have enough muscle fibers to make your muscles grow big and bulky.  In addition to having more muscle fibers, men who want to get big and bulky muscles generally eat a lot more than the average person and spend a lot more time in the gym.

    It's pretty rare for women to end up big and bulky without actively wanting it.  I'd forget that high-rep/low-weight stuff...just work out normally for a month or two and see what you look like then.  Trust me, if your muscles are too big, it'll be easy to get rid of them.  

  8. Use lighter weights and do more reps.  If you go to the gym stick to the cable cross-over machine.

  9. first make sure your figure is slime and then start lifting weights 20 minutes a day if your a woman just use 5 pounds do this for at least 3 months within weeks you should see a difference but nothing bulky another thing is crunches, help woman become toned without looking bulky in the stomach area do 25 a day.

  10. Circuit training.  Do high reps with low weight.  Only take about a minute and a half in between each set/excercise.  This will help build lean muscle and won't bulk you up.  Good Luck!

  11. Everytime after you work out make sure you stretch if not you will get bulky muscles.

    stretch alot to, its good for you do what ever you do do your thing for your own self and you'll be good
