How do I get telemarketers to stop calling my apartment?

They seriously call 1-3 times an hour! Usually I dont pick up but when I do I tell them to please stop calling. Well actually by now ive stopped saying please and have moved to more inappropriate language. But they still call.

If you are in the US then register with www.donotcall.gov. Telemarketers can be fined a heavy fine if you are on the list and they call you.

I feel your pain, but there is only one sure way to do it!!

the do-not-call list just takes to long....usually 2-3 month.....! or until all the tele-marketeers are of there data-base numbers!   for the best and immediately stop to your problem is.....get yourself a callerID manager....it will stop the minute you plug it in!!!

I got one and installed it and before even reading the instructions I hit *800/866 wild-card and it put a stop to it right a way!!

If all else fails, change your number.

You can tell them to put you on the "DO NOT CALL" list.  Sometimes that works.

But the best thing I've done is let them start their pitch as you set the phone down and go about your business.  

After a little while they get the message.  

The caller has wasted his money making time calling you!
