How do I get the Kathak firm foot sound?

Question

In my class, most students make such great firm sounds as their bare feet hit the ground. Does anyone know what this is called? And how to actually practice and get this sound with your feet? (without bells this is)

I keep trying, but it's difficult.

I hope the Kathak experts out there, can guide me and tell me =)

Try hard there is no particular way for it its just the practise
