Question:

How do I get the best performance from my 40" Sony Bravia?

I have just brought a 40" Sony Bravia. It looks great and I am very pleased with it, although after reading loads of reviews I did expect the picture to be a bit better than it is, in fact at times it looks slightly pixilated and not that clear when watching it through my Sky box! I do not have HD, the TV is approx 10ft away in a reasonably well lit lounge. Am I being too judgmental or are there adjustments I need to make to get a better picture?

Thanks!

  1. Oh a couple adjustments will make that TV Singggggggg......

First, get a Samuel Adams Hefeweisen....

    Then Get HD....

Apply SA Hefeweisen to mouth.....apply HD to TV.....

    AHHHHHHHHHH, yummy.....

Other than that you, are getting exactly what  you are paying for, Low Def signals pixellating a HI DEF TV set.....

  2. No, you're not being too judgmental, standard Sky digital picture quality is quite poor on HD TV's compared to terrestial digital. If you go for Sky HD the quality will improve as none HD channels are upscaled.

With regards to picture set-up, have a look at this answer I gave recently, it will help get the best performance from your set.
