I have a blue 2005 lexus rx330 and the side view mirror cracked open and the liquid inside spilled all over the car. The liquid from the mirror dried on the paint of the car and I cannot remove it. Its stuck on and it looks terrible. What is this stuff and how do I take it off without repainting the car door?

  1. I have never heard of this.  I have the rx 400 2008.  I would call the dealership and just ask them about it.  you might not have ot take it in.  In the meantime I'll ask my father today ( he's a mechanic) if he knows what the fluid is and how to remove it.  SO check back later today. :)

  2. I don't know what the fluid is, but this works for removing paint scrapes: Get a shop towel and put brake cleaner on it, then rub it.  If that works it will come off without too much trouble, so don't rub REALLY hard, just enough to see results.

  3. do NOT put brake cleaner on your car!  It will strip the clear coat and some of the actual paint right off of your car!.  Hopefully you didn't listen to that guy.  I would try rubbing alcohol, windex or WD-40 depending on the fluid type.
