I have a problem with my college and want to get the media involved. It's about mistreatment of veteran students. Can anyone lead me in the right direction?

  1. Call  in to some local talk radio shows.... that is a form of media.   If you can't find local try the sean hannity show.

  2. Ask your local news provider for an interview, if that doesn't work then make a fuss an petition or something, that usually gets'em off their butts

  3. a letter to the editor in your local paper might help raise awareness....or call your local tv station to tell them what's going on, but have your information and facts together so when they start asking you details you can sound informed and educated without sounding angry or pushy

  4. The US media is overly influenced by government agencies and large corporate sponsors. If the story is within the spectrum of debate is can be presented vigorously. However, there are many stories that are not within the spectrum. You may need to dumb this down and give it a safe spin for a media outlet to bite on the story. Major media is a propaganda machine for their sponsors.

Remember that protest marches against the occupation of Iraq and other important international stories go unreported. Testimony of soldiers about their experiences in Viet Nam and Iraq go unnoticed by major media. It's very clear that the US continues to commit crimes against citizens of Iraq. Returning vets lack the support they need to recover from a psychological and physically damaging environment.

Good luck. You may face an uphill battle.

  5. First, where are you located? Just call a local TV station and ask for the investigative reporter. They should be able to tell you if the story is news worthy.

    Chet

  6. All news/media outlets provide "contact us with a story" contact information on their websites.  Just contact whomever you want to break your story.

  7. Unfortunately you'll probably have difficulty getting anyone to really listen, unless you methodically gather all information concerning these problems, and explaining your views on it, especially how it is that you see it as a mistreatment. If you're completely sure of this and are really intent on remedying it eventually you will find willing listeners who will direct you on how and where to go with your case.

  8. call what ever media you have in mind.. nothing to big they wont bother. then tell them and ask if they would help you with reaching people views etc.. they love a bit of dirt!

  9. call your local news channel and tell them about it, but be sure to do your research and if they're interested they'll run it on TV and if it pisses enough people off then something may become of it.

    good luck

  10. Call the Veterans Administration

    get the problem fixed

    forget the crusade

besides you can always get even later on

  11. what are they doing to vetern students?

heres what to do, go to local newspaper or tv, present ur case very professionally, i.e. show the problem, who it affects, whose to blame, and why it needs attention, if they dont take it try somewhere else, like a magazine or something.
