I've done it before but I can't remember how. I have the camera on, I plug it into the USB port, then I right click and tell it to "get pictures", but then I keep getting this error message telling me that the device is already in use. How do I get around this problem? It's a kodak easyshare btw.

  1. It sounds like your computer is getting confused with other usb ports being active, or your camera is just being difficult. I would unhook everything from your usb ports, make sure the computer isn't running any other programs (Internet, myspace I'm, aim, steam, etc.), then plug in the camera to the usb cable and the usb port. THEN turn on the camera. If it is still saying that it is already in use, go to "My Computer", and then it will have one of a few things: a picture of a camera with the name/model of your camera, or  anything that isn't usually there. (It would be in the "removable storage" little thingy usually on the bottom of the c: drive or other drives. then right click and click "explore". "open" picture files.

If that didn't work, try taking out the SB card for your camera and inserting it into the SD Card port thingy in your computer. (NOT ALL COMPUTERS HAVE ONE, SO DON'T FORCE IT!).

If i am just wasting your time, contact the Kodak website and go to technical assistance or whatever they call it now.

Sorry if I wasted your time. =] bye.

  2. You can get a USB card reader to read the SD card.
