This is a follow up on a question I asked before the link is:

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AhELGvZEAbCUo74rHRDi_lLsy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20080829143958AAAsHfg. One of the answerer's (Melius) said that I need to have "body shop" because that is what creates the Downloads folder. And I was wondering how I would get body shop so I would have the Downloads folder, so that I could actually get (i.e hairstyle) to download. Can you someone tell me also what is the easiest thing to download and find on the Sims 2.

  1. Well first you have to get to your directory of Sims 2. Which is C:/program files/EA games/sims2/bin/body.exe, and the downloads folder should be located in the folder of sims 2 in my documents.

  2. You can always just create the directory yourself.

Go to My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2 and create a directory named "Downloads".

Body Shop (TS2BodyShop.exe) gets a new version whenever you install an expansion pack, so go to the following location if you only have the base game:

    "C:\Program Files\EA Games\The Sims 2\CSBin"

If you have an expansion pack or two, then go to the same directory for *the most recently published* expansion pack you have installed. If you have Freetime and BonVoyage and Nightlife you would use the BodyShop version in Freetime.

The simplest downloads are those that come as .sims2pack files. You download these files as .zip or .rar files and uncompress them using a free program like 7zip ( http://www.7-zip.org/download.html ).  Once extracted, a .sims2pack file doesn't go in the Downloads folder. Instead you just double click it.

.sims2pack files generally contain wall decor or flooring, and houses.

That depends if you're staying legit or not. If you're doing it like you're supposed to be doing, you get your downloads off of The Sims' official site - http://thesims2.ea.com  if you're planning to be a pirate, there's a big package of stuff here... http://www.fulldls.com/torrent-games-125...   it has the extra stuff that are on the exclusive downloads stickers when you buy the expansion packs in the store. You'll need a program on your computer to download it with like limewire or something like that, and a program such as winrar to unzip/uncompress them. If you're going for user-created mods (which are also legitimately) some really, really pretty clothes (for girls/women only) are here... http://www.annamariasims2.com  she has free one-outfit-at-a-time downloads, and also on her donate page you get 7 exclusive outfits in one download for a small donation of $1.56 minimum (up to however you think her high-quality cute clothes is worth.) I LOVE her stuff! :-)
