How do I get the smell out of my reef sandals?

My reef sandals smell VERY bad, almost like vinegar!! How do I get the smell to go away? I tried freezing them for a bit...didn't work. I tried leaving them in the sun...didn't work. Any ideas?

PLEASE HELP I LOVE THEM!!!

  1. Well, first of all you should add feet powder to the reef sandals so that they would be able to smell good. Second, why do they stink almost like vinegar? What is the reason? Add feet powder to your sandals and to your feet because the problem might be your feet.


  2. Only vinegar? Wow you are lucky and have a really low tolerance for stink.  Mine get to smelling like sweat mixed with post-Chinese-food diarrhea.  Anyway, to get rid of the smell, I use a combination of disinfectant wipes and Gold Bond foot powder.  The wipes get rid of the smell, and the powder helps to prevent it from returning.  The only problem is that, if I use too much powder, then for the next day or so, my sandals squeak with every step I take.  You can also slow the onset of stink by removing them when you are staying still (like in class, at work, or driving) and by making sure your feet are clean before you don your sandals.

  3. Make a large batch of Red rose tea strong! About a gallon. Soak them once the tea is cool. Repeat if necessary. Might stain though.
