How do I get the sound to my tv to work with my Durabrand surround sound I got my dvd to work?

I have an ilo tv and a sanyo dvd and a durabrand HT-400 surround sound system

it is difficult to know, there are so many possible options.  if you have a composite out on the back of your TV then that should connect to your surround sound system.  you can plug your DVD player into the TV and then the out on the TV will go to your surround sound system.  this might allow you to have sound on your TV with your audio system simultaneously.  you need all the right cables so if you don't have them go to your local electronics store and they should be more than happy to find them for you.
