How do I get the water in the commode to flush all the way. The water will not flush completly?

  1. If it's a low-flow toilet, try holding the handle in the down position for several seconds.  Count to five or so.  Or hold it down until you see that it has actually flushed.


  2. Maybe your valve underneath the toilet is not open enough.  Open the valve a little more, perhaps you're not getting enough water when you flush.  Try that.

  3. first, you might have an obsruction in the toilet trap itself..... for this a toilet auger is used to snake it out - second, you might not have enough water in the toilet tank - the water level should be about 1/2 inch below the flush valve overflow - not enough water will produce a poor flush 3rd, check the adjustment on the flapper chain ,from the handle ,  if it is too loose, the flapper will go down too fast... good luck -
