WITHOUT messing up my paint. I already took the fish emblem off, but the sticky white material is still in the area of where the fish emblem had been. What can I use to get this off completely? I have some isopropyl alchohol...will that work?

  1. Ask a paint shop I used brake fluid to get that kind of glue off a rear window once, but I do not know if it will harm your paint. It may not if you wash it off immediately after getting the glue off.

  2. rubbing alcohol from the medicine cabinet will work

  3. Barbeque starter fluid or kerosene should do the job.  If it isn't a whole lot, Engine Starter Fluid (Eyther) works real good too.

Ever think of Putting the Walking Fish/Darwin symbol over it?

Skip that brake fluid suggestion. That is methyl alcohol and great as a paint remover. Isopropyl rubbing alcohol is fine. And if you want a real expensive alcohol remover, whiskey or vodka or tequila will work. But I recommend staying with a petroleum based solvent as safest against paint damage.

  4. I would suggest a rubbing compound that is designed not to scratch your car.

  5. Go buy some Goof-off and apply in the shade
