I have a 1987 Cavalier convertible, and I'm trying to run the power cable for my amp. I'm looking all over the place for an opening to run my power wire so I can avoid drilling. I'm not even seeing a good spot to to drill a hole through either though. Any ideas?

  1. You have to drill a hole in the firewall, there's no safe place to go through without drilling a hole.  You can drill next to the brake pedal, drill the hole from the inside.

  2. I've never had to drill a hole to run the power wire in any of my cars.  If you look close enough you will find a spot where some wires or cables go through the firewall into the car.  They all have rubber boots that are usually round where they go through.  Either pry the boot to the side a bit to shove the wire through or poke a small hole just large enough to shove the wire through.  If you are wondering if you have found the right one to use put a flashlight on one side when prying the boot a bit and you will see light on the other side.
