How do I get to Broad Street from Birmingham New Street Station?

I will be walking so I need some easy to follow directions to pass on to someone else.

When exiting the station, walk up to the main entrance of the Bullring (the station is right next to it). Take a left - youshould see a cinema, a hotel, many shops, etc..keep walking, you will get to a road. Cross the road, carry on up until you get to a fountain.

Keep walking past the fountain and you will come to the main library, with an indoor walkthrough (there is a mcdonalds and a wetherspoons in here) keep walking through and when you come out of there your by the symphony hall - the start of broad street.
