I will be flying in to Charles de Gaulle airport at night and will probably look for an accomodation somewhere(if you have a good and reasonably hotel in mind to share, that will be great).

I would like to travel by train/metro whatever it's called there, to Lourdes and stay a few night there.(any good accomodation there that you would like to recommend,also will be grateful)

Thanks

  1. TGV to Bordeaux and Tarbes and then local trains to centre of Lourdes, walking distance from hotels;

    All hotels seem to be franchised to the Pope, his eminance has several agents on line in Lords area. Nice place to visit this time of year plenty of Alp snow and nice walks. Try the Irish Bar for a sing-song, Guiness on tap!

  2. Trains to Lourdes depart from the Gare Montparnasse.  There are several each day, a couple go direct to Lourdes, the other will require a change at maybe Dax or Bayonne.  Check the timetables on http://www.voyages-sncf.com  Not the most friendly website, but just search for trains using the timetable on the left hand side.

    There are over 300 hotels in Lourdes with a huge price range, so choice  depends very much on your budget.  The official Lourdes website lists hotels: http://www.lourdes-infotourisme.com/uk/
