The internet indicates tram 17 but how do I find that tram from the main station?

  1. All the tram routes are clearly labeled you should have no problem


  2. The tram is right out side in the street  between the station and Herti's Department store. Just go out the arcade exit with all the shops (I think it's the eastern exit--it's the exit directly opposite where the trains come in..). There is a tourist office on your right as you exit the building, so they can help you if you have questions..

  3. You can either take the Tram 17 from Hauptbahnhof as described by someone elso or from Karlsplatz/Stachus. There basically all tram lines pass. They are really easy to recognize and the have a sign with their number and destination.

    If you're still unsure you can always ask some of the other passengers standing there and waiting for a tram. They will surely help you.

  4. The closest you can get by public transport is using the trams, the tram stop is roughly near a river and a bridge that the trams go over. You can see the palace through the trees from the bridge.

    Its a very nice palace and the gardens are very large.

    There are tram stops right outside the Hauptbahnhof.
