Ok, I know I have to take the amtrak to Solana Beach. But what do I do after that? I think I have to take a bus after. Will the North Country Transit bus 101 take me straight to UCSD? Thanks. Please provide as much detail as you can.

  1. well from UCLA from you have a few choices

you could take the Santa Monica #1 bus to Bundy/Santa Monica

transfer to Santa Monica line #10 to Union station

then you could take the Metrolink or Amtrak

(I suggest metrolink ) to Oceanside then NCTD Breeze bus

    101 to UCSD

I suggest you try metrolink since it would be cheaper

the amtrak plus your metrolink will be accpected as transfer

    on the NCTD breeze bus

Metrolink departs weekdays from Union station

    at 8:00am arr Oceanside  9:55am,

    at 3:20pm arr Oceanside  5:18pm

    at 4:30pm arr Oceanside 6:32pm

    at 5:40pm arr Oceanside  7:41pm

    at 6:30pm arr Oceanside  8:28pm

then  transfer to the NCTD breeze bus 101 (to UCSD)

(this is a local route so it will take a over a hour)

    ======================================...

another route would be take Santa Monica 1, 8, or 12

to Santa Monica Blvd and then transfer to metro rapid

704 which will aslo take you to Union station
