How do I get to the 'Hedgehog' in my E36? BMW mechanics will know.?

I have power to the blower motor but it won't work but will if I put power derectly to it from battery.

BMW mechanics are not prophets.

Even one with a crystal ball would prefer to know if you are talking about a radiator electric auxillary fan, or an AC/heater blower motor.

And no fancy nicknames for car problems please. You are only making it harder for those who would like to help you.

its the reostate thats blown,not the motor.....

probably a short try using a mulimeter with voltage and put on both the wires i suspect you not getting 12 volts

were you turn the heater up or down its that unit that needs changing its a common fault on e36s.
