How do I get to the U.S. version of a store (shopping) website when it automatically shows the Canadian in Can

I enjoy shopping from various websites and live on a border city (Can/U.S.) so I usually shop on the U.S. websites and can have it shipped within the U.S. but lately, many stores (guess.com, etc) won't allow me to go to the U.S. version of their website because it goes automatically to the Canadian version because I am in Canada. This happens with many websites (futureshop, abercrombie, etc). Is there a way to shop on their U.S. websites from Canada? I won't shop on their Canadian websites so not sure why they would want to do this?

  1. When you first went to any of the popular sites you had to choose an area you live. It was automatically saved as the area you are in. Compare this and see what i mean.

    Go here: http://www.kijiji.ca/

Select your area. Try going back to the original via Internet History or typing it in address. You should reach the site you chose instead of original site you started with.

Re-choose an area you live on the other sites.

  2. It must be using the location of your ISP to route you to the correct site. Why don't you look into using a proxy located in the US.
