How do I get water based, day old, caulk off of cement?

  1. If its water based, shouldnt you be able to get it off with water? A strong hose might help, and maybe some scrubbing with a broom or something.


  2. well it depends on if its real smooth like glass smooth concrete or ruff.  If smooth try go off or paint thinner and a rag and scrub, If its ruff do the same thing, but it will sit in the crevice's and is nearly impossible to remove.  After time it will go away!

  3. POWER HOSE! that will do it!

  4. Try using a cloth moistened with gasoline to wipe it out. Gasoline reacts with all types of paint and softens the stains.

You can try and scape off the big stuff and cover it with a sheet of newspaper and soak the paper down with a products called OOPS sold in the painters clean up section. the paper will keep the cleaner over the caulk so the cement doesn't dry it all up then scape or wire brush. lay something over the wet paper to keep the wind from blowing it away not wood it will soak up the cleaner. remember it is flammable so watch it carefully
