  1. Having done this several times before, I can tell you the best way is to contact a college art department and go from there. You can also use craigslist or an online posting. Some things to keep in mind. Usually artists will want you to be at least 18 years old. Also, many if not most artists will want you to pose nude. I have never done clothed modeling for an artist or a class. College classes usually require nude modeling as well. One thing I can assure you of though is that the artists do not look at nude modeling as sexual or pornographic. They are very serious and are creating a thing of beauty with you as the subject. It is really an amazing part of the creative process, and is great to be willing to share yourself with an artist or art student to help them in their creativity. Make sure that you're dealing with someone reputable and that you agree to a rate of pay or barter, if you're wanting a picture for a portfolio. Generally speaking also, artists and art students look for a variety of body types and looks so you won't need to worry if you're not as ripped as a swimsuit or runway model. The best source is really to start by talking to a college professor or artist - then they can give you the right direction to go.
